6th Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival: Nayla Al Khaja’s Animal receives the Jury Award in the category Narrative Film

The sixth Ras Al Khaimah Fine Arts Festival recently showcased the work of more than 70 artists and directors from around the world, mainly the GCC countries, and attracted a wide audience. During this 6th Edition, Nayla Al Khaja’s short film Animal – anticipating her first feature-length film – received the Jury Award in the category Narrative Film, while Shaymaa Al Naqbi received an award for Together We Can, a documentary.

The 2018 festival saw 45% more submissions in comparison to the previous editions. Nine awards were given in the categories visual arts, photography, film, recycled art, and students’ work. Although the festival is a not-for-profit initiative of the Al Qasimi Foundation, more awards await the participants in the coming editions. The festivities, open to the public, counted renowned Emirati fashion designers Eman and Elham Al Flamrzi as well as noted actors Jamal Alghailan, Mansoor Al Feeli, and Sumaya Al Khinna among its attendees.
